Their duties include regularly inspecting facilities for contraband items, overseeing inmate activities, transporting inmates, and reporting on the inmate's conduct. Important skills for a Corrections Officer include strong interpersonal and communication skills, physical strength, self-discipline, assertiveness, and the ability to make sound judgments quickly.
