School Counselor in Corrales, NM

Step into a pivotal role supporting high school students in their college and career journeys as a contract College and Career Counselor. This full-time opportunity (30 hours/week, Monday through Thursday) takes place at a single high school near Corrales, NM, for the upcoming school year, from August 3rd to June 4th.

Ideal candidates bring experience in school counseling or guidance counseling, particularly at the high school level. You will work closely with students, helping them identify post-secondary options, navigate the college application process, consider vocational paths, and address academic or personal concerns. The focus is on encouraging growth, fostering resilience, and providing resources that equip students for life beyond graduation.

Desired Background:

• Valid NM school counselor license is preferred, but equivalent credentials such as Level Three-B Administrator or NM teaching licenses (permitted areas include K-8, 6-12, or Specialty Area) will also be considered
• Demonstrated ability to work with high school-aged students, understanding their unique developmental and academic needs
• Strong communication, organization, and interpersonal skills
• Experience with college/career readiness programming or guidance a plus
