Supervisor Social Work, Green

Located on the Torrey Pines Mesa near I-5 and Genesee Avenue in La Jolla, Scripps Green Hospital has served the greater San Diego community since 1977. We provide some of the region's best care, including several nationally ranked specialty programs.

Scripps Green Hospital is attached to Scripps Clinic Torrey Pines. Together we offer dozens of medical and surgical services, including cancer care, orthopedic surgery and organ transplantation.

Provides/oversees psychosocial evaluation/consultation/referral and triage of assigned patients. Conducts clinical assessments of patient/family/total situation to establish intervention strategies. Develops resources such as educational programs for community agencies or hospital or ambulatory personnel. Facilitates patient care conferences with other team members to review patient's goals of care, provide psychosocial support, assist with advance care planning and ensure proper referrals are made to community resources. Ensures timely and effective transfer between facilities and nursing units; also facilitates transfer to appropriate level of care in order to ensure quality care, maximum reimbursement, and minimizing cost/day. Conducts or attends discharge planning conferences with interdisciplinary healthcare team members. Supervises other members of the social work team in providing the same level of discharge planning Provides clinical direction. Facilitates and directs peer group supervision with interdisciplinary clinical team. Provides and/or coordinates in-service education and training for clinical staff. Coordinates the education and training for social work interns.

Required Education/Experience/Specialized Skills: Master's degree in Social Work; must meet the requirements for clinical supervision of social work staff

Required Certification/Registration: LCSW

Preferred Education/Experience/Specialized Skills/Certification: Post-MSW Palliative Care Certification and/or Oncology Social Work Certification.

Position Pay Range: $52.28-$75.96/hour
