About the Position:

Mountainside is looking for a committed and highly motivated Detox Clinician to join our clinical treatment team. This position plays a pivotal role in fostering safe and effective early treatment interventions. Success in this role comes from working collaboratively with the multidisciplinary treatment team in a fast-paced environment to ensure Best-In-Class detoxification treatment is provided to our clients.

Schedule:

Tuesday - Saturday: 8:00 am - 4:30 pm

Your Role:

  • Provide individual and group counseling while fostering a confidential and safe treatment environment
  • Obtain and review clients' records from previous treatment providers, when appropriate.
  • Collaborate with clients' emergency contacts, family members, former providers, and referral sources regarding treatment progress and plans.
  • Maintain communication with clients' families to report progress and wellbeing during detox treatment
  • Collaborate in the development of a multidisciplinary and individualized treatment plan
  • Participate in daily medical/clinical rounds
  • Administer complete and thorough biopsychosocial assessments to clients within 72 hours of their entering treatment.
  • Communicate with medical and nursing staff any observed or reported withdrawal symptoms or medical complaints on clients' behalf
  • Collaborate interdepartmentally with the Mountainside team as a whole
  • Collaborate with clients and Continuing Care staff to help recommend and create an aftercare plan that transitions the client to their next phase of recovery, considering housing, financial, and therapeutic needs
  • Document findings and progress in the clients' electronic medical record (EMR) maintaining compliance with all regulatory bodies, including HIPAA and CFR42.
  • Participate in every-other-week individual clinical supervision, and group supervision
  • Provide case updates to teammates within the clinical department to promote continuation of clinical care
  • Remain in compliance with required professional development and training opportunities, as required for licensure/certification or in line with organizational perspectives and initiatives

  • Effectively multitask, communicate with a team, and intervene in complex addiction and mental health crisis situations.
  • Balancing client-facing engagement and timely documentation requirements to ensure appropriate client care can be promoted and maintained.
  • Strong oral and written communication skills.
  • Passionate and skilled in providing quality, evidence-based therapeutic treatment interventions in both individual and group settings
  • Awareness and sensitivity to addiction, socioeconomic status, and strong cultural competency.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree required. Master's degree preferred.
  • Minimum credential of a Certified Addiction Counselor (CAC) in the State of Connecticut is required. Fully licensed as LCSW, LPC, LADC, or LMFT or actively working towards licensure is preferred.
  • Knowledge or experience with substance use disorder treatment preferred
  • Minimum 2 years of experience working in the field of counseling preferred
  • Must have basic computer skills including competence in software applications such as Microsoft Office suite, Adobe and use of internet applications and in using and/or connecting wireless computer hardware, the ability to project to remote devices, etc.

Compensation:

The base rate of pay for this position is $50,000 - 75,000 per year. Actual pay is determined based on a number of job-related factors including skills, education, training, credentials, experience, scope and complexity of role responsibilities, geographic location, performance, and working conditions.
