A Brief Overview
The Mental Health Clinical Supervisor assists the Clinical Director in coordinating the daily workflow of the Mental Health Evaluators (MHEs) and provides clinical supervision to MHEs in managing daily cases. Also provides direct clinical care to patients and families, inclusive of assessments/evaluations, crisis intervention, individual, family and group counseling. The Mental Health Clinical Supervisor participates as a member of a multi-disciplinary team in supporting high quality, cost effective, patient focused care and shares responsibility for coordinating care across the continuum.

What you will do

  • Provides clinical expertise and supervision to MHEs in the CRC.
  • Remain abreast of changes and advances in the field of behavioral health, legislation related to current practice, insurance coverage issues as well as current knowledge of community programs and services and effectively communicates these changes to staff and administration.
  • Ensures consistent, MHE services throughout the CRC coordinating appropriate staffing and scheduling to provide appropriate levels of service required to meet the needs of patients, families and staff.
  • Works alongside Clinical Director to develop and implement milieu programming and operational workflow to ensure that patients and families receive the highest quality care while in the CRC.
  • Leads quality improvement work related to the provision of clinical assessment and crisis intervention. Handles patient / customer complaints as they relate to the CRC.
  • Responsible for following the mandatory reporting procedures for any incident or serious event that did affect or potentially could have affected the clinical care of any patient.
  • Maintains and reviews current policies and procedures related to CRC. Recommends and develops new policies and procedures as needed in collaboration with Manager, Director, MHEs and other Departments as needed.
  • Provides input to budgeting activities related to staffing and operations. Accountable for administering special care funds as they relate to patient and family need.
  • Fosters positive relationships with community facilities and agencies. Functions as liaison between these agencies and the hospital. Works with Managers and/or Director to identify and eliminate service gaps.
  • Contributes feedback to performance evaluations and competencies of all MHEs in area of responsibility. Coaches and mentors staff, enforces performance standards, provides disciplinary action and termination as necessary in collaboration with the Clinical Director. Participates in the recruitment, hiring, orientation, training and retention of MHE staff.
  • Provides MHE coverage to clinical areas in need documenting interventions in accordance with all hospital or regulatory policies and procedures.

Education Qualifications

  • Master's Degree Social Work, Psychology or related degree - Required

Experience Qualifications

  • At least three (3) years experience in healthcare system, experience in managing an institutional function requiring systems thinking in a complex, fast-paced environment, experience managing confidential and highly sensitive info, experience professionally managing competing priorities, supervising students and staff - Required

Skills and Abilities

  • Proficient in MS Office software applications; Knowledge of basic data management and computer skills essential; EPIC (Required proficiency)
  • Excellent communication skills (Required proficiency)
  • Ability to forge successful collaborations with patients, families, staff, leaders and physicians at all levels within the Hospital and across the Care Network. (Required proficiency)
  • Excellent organizational skills (Required proficiency)
  • Working knowledge of data systems preferred (Preferred proficiency)

Licenses and Certifications

  • Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW) (Pennsylvania) - state board of social workers - upon hire - Required or
  • Licensed Professional Counselor (LPC) (Pennsylvania) - state board of counselors - upon hire - Required or
  • Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist (LMFT) - state board of marriage and family therapists - upon hire - Required

SALARY RANGE:

$81,670.00 - $104,130.00 Annually

Salary ranges are shown for full-time jobs. If you're working part-time, your pay will be adjusted accordingly.
