Description:

Develops and administers advanced career programming and resources for the students and alumni of a college. Serves as an industry expert in the areas of executive recruitment and organizational management. Develops new internship programs and placement opportunities with local, national and global employers.

  1. Develops and implements programming to educate experienced graduate students and alumni about career development and job search activities.

  2. Consults with experienced candidates and employers on issues related to career growth and hiring programs; conducts assessments and administers executive coaching to working professionals.

  3. Contacts potential employers to promote placement activities for the college. Collaborates with executive recruiters to place graduate students and alumni in senior level and executive management roles.

  4. Serves as liaison between employers, faculty, administrators and alumni to advance career opportunities.

  5. Represents the college to external groups to promote the admissions, alumni relations and placement goals of the college.

  6. Manages experienced hire programs for one or more graduate degree programs. Monitors, analyses and reports on labor market conditions and emerging technologies to assist in program development.

  7. Maintains and analyzes data and conducts assessments regarding career services and placement for reporting to the university and the media.

  8. Develops training for students inside and outside the classroom to help them build and assess skills related to professional communications and development.

  9. Performs other job-related duties as assigned.

Description:

The Senior Career Development Specialist - Katy Campus Career Services provides undergraduate career counseling services at a satellite campus, supporting student advising, employer engagement, and professional development initiatives focused on business and finance students. This role serves as a key liaison between the career center and satellite campus stakeholders, helping ensure students receive high-quality career coaching, employer connections, and professional development support.

A significant component of this role includes managing data collection, reporting, and analysis processes related to business school rankings, accreditation, and employment outcomes. The ideal candidate will possess experience counseling finance students, maintaining accurate reporting standards, and working independently in a satellite office environment with minimal direct supervision.

Key Responsibilities

Career Counseling & Student Support

  • Provide undergraduate career counseling services for students at a satellite campus.
  • Support delivery of career counseling programming and initiatives that enhance student career readiness and employment outcomes.
  • Serve as a primary career services contact for satellite campus students, faculty, staff, and alumni.
  • Provide individualized and group career counseling focused on career exploration, internship and job search strategies, networking, interviewing, and professional development.
  • Advise undergraduate finance students and alumni on career planning aligned with their interests, aptitudes, and long-term goals.
  • Conduct workshops, classroom presentations, and professional development sessions for finance students across multiple campuses.
  • Research and communicate employment trends, labor market information, and industry insights relevant to finance careers.

Employer Relations & Professional Development

  • Build and maintain relationships with employers to support internship and employment opportunities for business and finance students.
  • Coordinate professional development and networking events for finance students throughout the academic year.
  • Manage event logistics, communications, student participation, and follow-up activities to support successful engagement outcomes.
  • Promote student participation through targeted outreach, classroom engagement, and one-on-one advising.
  • Maintain Airtable databases and participant tracking systems for finance-related events and initiatives.

Data Management, Reporting & Rankings Administration

  • Manage departmental data collection, maintenance, analysis, and reporting functions in accordance with business school standards and regulations.
  • Serve as the primary point of contact for employment data reporting, rankings submissions, and accreditation-related reporting processes.
  • Maintain accurate and comprehensive data systems supporting reporting requirements for organizations including AACSB, NACE, Poets & Quants, and other rankings entities.
  • Administer reporting schedules, track survey responses, communicate with students and alumni, and provide regular updates to internal and external stakeholders.
  • Utilize advanced Excel and reporting tools to analyze employment outcomes and generate reports for leadership and accreditation purposes.
  • Ensure compliance with institutional policies and external reporting standards through accurate and detail-oriented data management practices.

Independent Operations at Satellite Campus

  • Operate effectively and independently in a satellite office environment with limited day-to-day supervision.
  • Demonstrate initiative, sound judgment, and proactive problem-solving in managing student services and local campus responsibilities.
  • Collaborate effectively with central campus leadership and cross-campus partners while independently managing assigned priorities.

Qualifications: Experience will be considered in lieu of master's degree. Bachelor's degree required.

Experience

  • Minimum of three (3) years of professional experience in higher education, career services, student affairs, or a related field.
  • Demonstrated experience providing career counseling and professional development support to undergraduate students from the Bauer College of Business.
  • Strong preference for candidates with direct experience advising finance majors or working within finance-focused academic programs.
  • Proven experience managing complex data collection, reporting, and analytics functions for business school rankings and accreditation.
  • Familiarity with reporting standards and methodologies associated with AACSB, NACE, Poets & Quants, and similar organizations.
  • Demonstrated ability to work independently and successfully manage responsibilities in a satellite office setting without extensive supervision.
  • Experience using Symplicity or similar career services management systems highly preferred.
  • Demonstrated success in event planning, employer engagement, and student development initiatives.
  • Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel, survey development, and data management tools required.

Preferences

  • Experience supporting Bauer specific undergraduate finance career pathways and employer recruiting initiatives.
  • Experience with rankings-related employment reporting in an AACSB-accredited business school environment.
  • Familiarity with Airtable, survey platforms, and career services technology systems.
  • Experience managing professional development events and large-scale student engagement programs.
