Summary:
This position is responsible for providing spiritual care, counseling and guidance to patients/families and staff during a full-time, 3-5 year-long residency and under the supervision of an Association for Clinical Pastoral Education (ACPE) Certified Educator.

Responsibilities:
*Conduct regular patient/patient family and staff visits to assigned floors; rotate weeknight and weekend on-call coverage with other staff; conduct daily chapel services; prepare and conduct Sunday worship; assist in the planning and presentation of special services throughout the year.

*Provide counseling and spiritual guidance to hospital staff; facilitate and/or conduct staff support groups as directed. Co-supervise CPE (Clinical Pastoral Education) Chaplain Students.

*Participate in CPE training seminars and weekly Spiritual Care staff meetings; provide input and feedback regarding problems/solutions and program enhancements; visit area churches as directed to teach Sunday school, speak about the department and CPE program, conduct funerals or provide other assistance.

*Assist patients/patient families when clergy needs are expressed; contact and assist visiting clergy; complete weekly reports of patient/patient family and staff visits according to established guidelines; and perform other duties and special projects as required.

How Youll Be Successful:

WORK EXPERIENCE
* 6-8 Units of Clinical Pastoral Education. Completed Level II ACPE Outcomes.

EDUCATION
* Four-year Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience Required
* Graduate or professional work or advanced degree; or equivalent experience Master of Divinity or equivalent in Process or Completed Required
