Job Description
Provides comprehensive administrative support to the Department of Athletics Development Team, particularly the external fundraising and donor experience staff. This role requires proactive management of complex schedules and meetings, including preparing agendas, briefings, and other materials. The position also involves handling sensitive inquiries, coordinating with a wide range of stakeholders such as major donors, volunteers, university leadership, faculty, staff, and the public, and maintaining accurate and confidential donor and financial records.
Reporting to the Senior Associate Athletics Director of Development, the Position Title is expected to manage multiple priorities and competing demands with a high level of professionalism. Key responsibilities include frontline customer service, travel planning, processing reimbursements, and managing financial and requisition paperwork. The role also supports high-level communications and initiatives related to external fundraising efforts.
Success in this position requires excellent written and verbal communication skills, strong organizational and interpersonal abilities, attention to detail, sound judgment, and a proactive approach to problem-solving. Proficiency in Microsoft Office, fiscal responsibility, and the ability to handle confidential information with discretion are essential.
Minimum Required Qualifications
High School diploma or GED. Certification or vocational training may be required. Associate degree in relevant field may be preferred. 2 years of relevant experience required. 4-6 years of relevant experience preferred.
Preferred Qualifications:
High competency with data and reporting tools such as Excel. Experience working in a large university and/or Medical Center setting. Knowledge of Ohio State University policies, procedures and systems. Experience supporting a Senior level leader. Previous experience with managing electronic calendars and scheduling for Senior Leader. Previous experience working in an Advancement setting
