Job Description
Come join the team at WeCare at Avalon Care Center! WeCare at Avalon is actively seeking motivated Activity Director for our community in New Castle, PA. Our Activity Director provide the residents exciting, stimulating, and resident centered recreation programs. The Primary purpose is to plan, organize, implement, evaluate, and direct the activity programs.

Key Responsibilities
· Manage the staff of the department. · Create and implement a monthly structured recreation calendar of diverse activities. · Promote 1:1 program for residents not choosing to attend structured programming. · Promote programming for dementia residents. · Maintaining supplies for daily programming. · Maintain monthly budget. · Maintain and report information about a resident's condition. · Train department staff. · Assist and participate in resident outings from the facility. · Assist in completing documentation following programs.
Skills, Knowledge and Expertise
· Knowledge and experience working with the elderly. · Possess patience, tact, enthusiasm, and a cheerful disposition. · Ability to confidently design, prepare, and lead activity programs. · Knowledge of equipment utilized in long term care. · A certification in therapeutic recreation (CTRS) is preferred, OR an (ASS or higher) degree in therapeutic recreation or related field of human services. · Minimum 2 year's experience working in a recreation program preferred.
