LSF is seeking a talented Employment Specialist III who would like to make an impact in the lives of children and families.
Purpose & Impact:
Employment Specialists provide each client with an individual employment plan and ensure unsubsidized job placement and 90-day, 180-day retention for a minimum of 240 full-time, permanent placements annually. 20 Placements per month . Expected 74% of placements will have 90 day retention and 62% 180 day retention.
Essential Functions:
- Conducts appropriate outreach and recruitment on sufficient scale to help fill vacancies in the program.
- Assessment of participants needs for supportive services.
- Acts as team leader, motivates and provides guidance to Employment Specialists I and II
- Provides job development and placement services as needed to meet or exceed his/her monthly placement standards . Twenty placements a month.
- Job development with the areas private and public sector employers to identify job openings that might be filled by the programs participants.
- Provide participants with orientation to work benefits and protections such as social security, workers comp, payroll deduction and wages-and-hour standards.
- Represents the agency at the worksites.
- Acts as liaison to resolve participant/employer job performance differences.
- Documents participant files.
- Provides placements information on a weekly manner.
- Visits and provides program presentation with our employers.
- To register all Job Ready participants in EFM before (or on the same day) they receive a referral
- To enter the service (activity) in EFM when provided. At least one accountable activity every 90 days.
- To enter Obtained Employment 880 in EFM for all clients with placement.
Other Functions:
- Represents the agency in the community.
- Attends required meetings.
- Other duties as assigned.
Physical Requirements:
- Ability to write.
- Ability to use the keyboard.
- Ability to drive.
- Ability to communicate orally.
- Being mobile.
Education:
High School diploma/GED
Experience:
At least three years experience delivering employment services to refugees and immigrants in a social service environment
Skills:
- Leadership skills.
- Computer knowledge.
- Ability to speak read and writes both Spanish and English.
- Excellent communication skills.
- Excellent knowledge of Miamis metropolitan area.
Other:
Must demonstrate sensitivity to our service populations cultural and socioeconomic characteristics and needs.
Principle Accountabilities:
- Reports to Supervisor III, Manager III, and Director IV.
- Team leader.
- Will attain 240 full-time, permanent placements a year, with the required retention, benefits, and self-sufficiency ratio.
- Adheres to LSF Policies and Procedures.
