Removery was formed in 2019 through a merger of the four leading tattoo removal brands in North America. The underlying businesses have operated a combination of 20+ years and have performed more than 800,000 treatments, enabling us to offer clients an unrivaled treatment experience. Based in Austin, TX, Removery is the only scaled, pure play provider of laser tattoo removal services in the world. We use best in class technology utilizing the innovative PicoWay laser equipment to remove tattoos safely and effectively. The foundation is in place to build a network of 400+ locations across the US, Canada, and Australia over the next 5 years.

Position Overview:

We are seeking a detail-oriented and experienced Payroll and Benefits Specialist to join our People and Culture team at our headquarters office in Austin, Texas. The ideal candidate will be responsible for the accurate and timely processing of payroll, daily administration of employee benefits programs, and ensuring compliance with all applicable regulations. This role requires a strong understanding of payroll and benefits administration, excellent organizational skills, and a commitment to providing exceptional service to our employees.

Position Responsibilities:

Payroll Processing:

  • Process bi-weekly payroll, ensuring accuracy and compliance with federal, state, and local regulations.
  • Collect, verify, and input employee time and attendance data.
  • Calculate and process payroll deductions, including taxes, garnishments, and voluntary deductions.
  • Prepare and distribute payroll reports, including summaries, tax filings, and other necessary documentation.
  • Resolve payroll discrepancies and address employee inquiries in a timely and professional manner.
  • Maintain accurate payroll records and ensure data integrity.
  • Process off-cycle payments as needed.

Benefits Administration:

  • Administer employee benefits programs, including health insurance, dental, vision, life insurance, 401(k), and other voluntary benefits.
  • Manage enrollment, changes, and terminations of employee benefits in HRIS.
  • Serve as the primary point of contact for employee benefits inquiries.
  • Coordinate and assist with employee benefits orientations and presentations.
  • Monitor file feed error reports, audit benefits invoices and reconcile discrepancies.
  • Ensure compliance with ERISA, COBRA, HIPAA, and other applicable benefits regulations.
  • Manage annual open enrollment processes.
  • Maintain accurate benefit records.

Compliance and Reporting:

  • Stay up to date on federal, state, and local payroll and benefits regulations.
  • Open state and local payroll tax accounts and update existing accounts in ADP as necessary, monitoring agency notices and error reports.
  • Prepare required documents for distribution by ADP (e.g., W-2, 1095, T-4).
  • Conduct internal audits to ensure compliance with company policies and regulatory requirements.
  • Assist with external audits and provide necessary documentation.
  • Prepare and submit required reports to government agencies and insurance carriers.

Other Duties:

  • Assist with onboarding and offboarding procedures related to payroll and benefits.
  • Responsible for employee file data accuracy in ADP related to payroll and benefits
  • Assist with HR projects and initiatives as needed.
  • Maintain confidentiality of employee information.
  • Contribute to process improvements and efficiency initiatives.

SKILLS AND QUALIFICATIONS

  • Bachelor's degree in Business, Communications, Finance, Human Resources, or a related field from an accredited college or university (or equivalent professional experience)
  • At least one year of professional experience supporting the payroll function (at least three years of professional experience supporting payroll and employee benefits strongly preferred)
  • Excellent communication and organizational skills
  • Excellent interpersonal skills as this role will require you to work closely with others across different departments
  • Resourceful, a problem solver, self-motivated
