Position OverviewThe Illinois Department of Children and Family Services is seeking an organized, professional, and energetic individual to serve as Subsidy Support Team Supervisor. Under administrative direction, this position will plan, review, and coordinate the activities of a team of professional staff engaged in the provision of pre and post adoption and guardianship services. Additionally, the position will monitor to ensure that staff make appropriate decisions regarding approval of adoptive placements and subsidies.

Job Responsibilities- Serves as Subsidy Support Team Supervisor
- Serves as working supervisor
- Establishes and administers regional adoption goals and objectives
- Consults with staff responsible for adoptive resource development, including professional, paraprofessional, contractual employees, and students
- Establishes and implements a team-based program of staff development and training for subordinate staff to ensure the ongoing communication of rules and procedures and social work practice knowledge, methods, and skills
- Administers the adoption assistance program for area of oversight, including primary approval or denial of applications, recertifications, revisions, amendments, and terminations
- Translates and interprets, both orally and in writing, for Spanish speaking clients regarding services available and the proper completion of forms.
- Provides input into regional adoption budget projections
- Performs other duties as required or assigned which are reasonably within the scope of the duties enumerated above
- Requires a master's degree in social work or a related human services field from a recognized college or university
- Requires three years of progressively responsible administrative child welfare experience with an MSW OR four years of progressively responsible administrative experience with a master's degree in a related human services field
- Requires ability to speak and write Spanish at a colloquial skill level
- Requires ability to pass a background check.
- Requires ability to travel in the performance of duties. Requires appropriate, valid driver's license.
- Requires ability to utilize the Spanish language in performance of duties.
