Job Overview

The ERP Specialist is responsible for providing support and oversight, as well as providing functional and technical support related to the software systems operated and utilized by the Department of Human Resources and Talent Development (HRTD). The incumbent will be a subject matter expert on HRTD and/or Benefits business processes, as well as the technical tools used to execute them. The ERP Specialist will participate in team projects to operate and enhance system functionality and business processes.

Roles and Responsibilities

The following information is intended to describe the overall nature and scope of the work being performed. This is not a comprehensive listing of all responsibilities or tasks; work may differ and other work may be assigned when deemed appropriate.

  • Acts as the initial point of contact for customer issues related to human resource systems; performs regular duties such as monitoring processes, troubleshooting system errors, resolving data issues, and resolving trouble tickets; provides system support for any changes made to the existing business environment.
  • Assists in developing human resource system solutions to meet business needs, detailing business requirements, documenting standard operating procedures, and managing interfaces. Collaborates with team members, vendors/providers, and information technology teams.
  • Provides end-user assistance and training related to Human Resources and Benefits technology tools and business processes; works closely with cross-functional teams such as Employee Benefits, Payroll, and Budget to ensure accuracy and successful delivery of work product.
  • Provides prompt and courteous customer support; works with team members about project statuses and the resolution of system issues; performs appropriate follow-up and ensures progress on work items.
  • Participates in system enhancements, patches, and upgrades for the HCM and Benefits modules within the ERP.
  • Supports several key projects such as the annual issuance of over 10,000 contracts, memos, assignment letters, and work agreements.
  • Prepares weekly & monthly reports; automate reports; and perform ad hoc analysis.

Qualifications

Below are the minimum qualifications for this job. Equivalent combinations of education and experience are also acceptable.

Education
Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university

Experience
Three years of proven work experience as an HR Business Analyst or equivalent

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities

  • Demonstrated working knowledge of the principles, practices, and techniques of management information systems; standard office practices and procedures; standard word processing and spreadsheet software; as well as the safekeeping and storage of confidential files
  • Demonstrated ability to maintain an HRIS database, to perform office work quickly and efficiently; to plan, organize, and prioritize work effectively; to communicate effectively; to work cooperatively with others; to work under pressure and/or with frequent interruptions
  • Demonstrated ability to complete complex calculations, apply practices and regulations, and create reports
  • Has the ability to implement technology solutions and work with multi-disciplinary teams
