Job Summary

Supervises the day-to-day functions of the YMCA Children's Crisis Outreach and Response System (CCORS).  Provides administrative and clinical supervision of Crisis Intervention Specialists, Family Advocates, and Parent Partners.  Participates actively on department and branch management teams.  This position works occasional evenings and weekends and shares responsibility for the after-hours on-call rotation with other clinical supervisors. This position ensures a seamless system of high quality rapid response, assessment, intervention, and referral for King County children and families.


  1. Provides clinical and administrative supervision to assigned staff.
  2. Facilitates daily triage meeting with crisis teams; coordinates smooth functioning of daily triage process with the CCORS management team.
  3. Recruits, hires, trains, coaches and evaluates assigned staff and volunteers. 
  4. Orients new staff to legal, contractual and procedural elements of the job. Provides and/or facilitates on-going staff training. 
  5. Provides technical assistance and case consultation to staff by fielding calls and teaming on in-person outreaches during business hours and after hours.
  6. Ensures all families served by the CCORS program receive high quality, short term and effective crisis intervention services. 
  7. Ensures urgency, intensity and frequency of services calibrated to the family’s individual cultural background and mental health needs, and that families are bridged to long term community services such as mental health treatment. 
  8. Ensures all required data from direct reports are submitted in a timely manner.
  9. Participates in  Quality Assurance (QA) reviews of clinical files and Client Track on an ongoing basis to ensure that documentation is thorough and meetscontract requirements for service delivery .
  10. Assists with the completion  of monthly and quarterly reports on client data for outcome evaluation . 
  11. Conducts daily quality assurance (QA) activities so that all services are delivered and documented per WAC and King County contractual requirements. Participates in formal QA review process.
  12. Assists with facilitation of CCORS staff and team meetings, including selection and delivery of relevant training.
  13. Completes annual Performance Evaluations and Mid-year Coaching and Development Plans for all supervisees.
  14. Participates in the program, department and branch management teams.
  15. Models standards of excellence for others by showing exceptional leadership skills.
  16. Ensures effective care and documentation of medical providers, including clinical assessment and prescriptive activities for client caseload of CFTs under their supervision.
  17. Participates actively in annual YMCA fundraising campaign by sharing the impact of YMCA programs and soliciting funds to support services to people in need.


  • Masters degree in social work, counseling, or related field.
  • Two years work experience as a Mental Health Professional and Child Mental Health Specialist. 
  • Licensure as an Independent Clinical Social Worker, Mental Health Counselor, or Marriage and Family Therapist, and Department of Health approved supervisor preferred.  
  • Two or more years experience supervising in a person-centered, solution-focused, team environment. 
  • Coordination and leadership of social service or mental health agency functions preferred.
  • Two or more years training and experience providing emergent, skills-focused, intensive, short term crisis intervention for families preferred.
  • Proven ability to work effectively as part of a team.
  • Prefer experience with wraparound, motivational interviewing and solution-focused service delivery models. 
  • Working knowledge of youth and family mental health, juvenile justice and chemical dependency systems and providers in King County and Washington State child welfare system strongly preferred.  
  • Knowledge of relevant Washington Administrative Codes. 
  • Intermediate proficiency with computers, basic Microsoft Office software and case management/client tracking software.  
  • Previous experience tracking and summarizing data into reports in a timely manner. 
  • Strong organizational skills with attention to detail, a high sense of urgency, and ability to consistently adhere to strict timelines and follow-through.
  •  Prefer knowledge of and previous experience with diverse populations (language, culture, race, gender, physical ability, sexual orientation, etc).  Ability to speak any language in addition to English helpful and preferred.
