JOB TITLE: Youth Addictions Clinician (Therapist)

JOB SUMMARY: The Youth Addictions Clinician (Therapist) provide therapeutic services to adolescents struggling with substance abuse issues and co-occurring mental health challenges. The Youth Addictions Clinician is skilled in evidence-based treatment approaches and passionate about making a positive impact in the lives of young people.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Conduct comprehensive intake assessments and develop individualized treatment plans.
  • Provide individual and group therapy sessions focused on addiction recovery and relapse prevention.
  • Utilize evidence-based practices such as CBT, DBT, Motivational Interviewing, and trauma-informed care.
  • Collaborate with families, schools, case counselors, and other professionals to support the youths treatment goals.
  • Maintain accurate and timely clinical documentation in compliance with organizational and licensing standards.
  • Participate in multidisciplinary team meetings and contribute to the development of effective care strategies.
  • Provide crisis intervention and support as needed.
  • Educate clients and families about substance use, mental health, and coping strategies.

SUPERVISED BY: Hired, supervised, and evaluated by the Director of Family and Youth.

Qualifications

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Proven experience working with adolescents and understanding their development needs.
  • Experience providing individual and group therapy sessions in a clinic setting.
  • Experience leading substance abuse prevention programs within schools.
  • Experience working with adolescents involved in the legal system.
  • Experience providing outreach and support services to at-risk youth.
  • Familiarity with electronic health records (EHR) systems.
  • Bilingual abilities are preferred.

SUPERVISED BY: Hired, supervised, and evaluated by the Director of Family and Youth.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Education masters degree in counseling, Psychology, Social Work, or related field.
  • Licensure/Certification: Indiana licensure LPC, LCSW, LMFT, or equivalent; CADAC or similar addiction certification preferred.
  • Minimum of two years experience working with adolescents in a mental health or substance use treatment setting.
  • Ability to build rapport with young people, listen actively, and communicate effectively with clients, families, and colleagues.
  • Knowledge of adolescent development, trauma-informed care, and co-occurring disorders.
  • Strong communication and crisis intervention skills.
  • Ability to work effectively with diverse populations and within a multidisciplinary team.
  • CPR/First Aid Certification required. (Or willingness to obtain)
  • Appropriate automobile insurance and valid license plates.

TYPICAL PHYSICAL DEMANDS:

  • Occasional standing, walking, lifting, reaching, kneeling, bending, stooping, pushing, and pulling.
  • Occasional lifting and/or moving up to twenty-five (25) pounds.

Work Environment:

This role may involve both in-office and community-based services, including schools and homes. Evening and occasional weekend hours may be required to meet client needs.
