In addition to performing all the duties of a STAT Support Counselor when on shift, (i.e., basic care and supervision of children), the STAT Support Counselor Supervisor ensures that all program procedures and protocols are followed at all times. The STAT Support Counselor Supervisor is responsible for supervising the work of STAT Support Counselors. Additional Requirements: Required to deal sensitively with highly emotional situations involving people who are embarrassed, defensive,aggressive,or uncooperative. Job entails visits to multiple facilities in the San Diego area, and this work would be difficult for persons with auditory or speech impairment. Current staff has been required to provide training onboard ships. May be subject to verbal or physical abuse by patients.
