Job Title: Survivor Outreach Coordinator Company: DoverStaffing, Inc. Location: Darien, IL Description: DoverStaffing is supporting the Army Reserve Family Programs Directorate for Survivor Outreach Services (SOS). SOS provides substantial support to the Casualty Assistance Officer to ensure Families receive the most current information and have access to long-term financial and emotional support. SOS services are available to all Survivors, not just Survivors of the current conflict, and are available until the Survivor desires to discontinue services. In addition, the AR SOS staff will provide awareness education to the military community about the needs of survivors and maintain linkage between the survivor and the army. DoverStaffing is seeking a Support Coordinator for the SOS Program under supervision of the Army Reserve Family Programs Director and is responsible linking of all phase of the SOS program. This position will serve as a Subject Matter Expert on survivor support issues and services. Essential Job Functions: Conduct briefings to community to increase community knowledge of SOS services. Identify needs and refer customer as appropriate for assistance and follow-up. Coordinate with Family Programs Director, Casualty Assistance Center, Benefits Specialist and financial Counselors to review cases. Provide partnerships with military, civilian and non-government agencies to leverage support. Coordinate and conduct support groups, life skill education and supportive counseling for survivors using various venues. Provide information and referral services for survivors. Provide respite care services as requested. Analyze data from surveys, Tracking System, web sites, and Management Information Systems to determine trends or areas requiring further study and to assess program effectiveness. Coordinator for the SOS must possess a baccalaureate degree in the behavioral sciences (i.e. social work, psychology, counseling, sociology) from an accredited college.
