Job Title: Community Outreach Coordinator - * Per Diem * Washington , D C Company: DaVita Location: Washington, DC Description: Job Description: Form partnerships with community leaders, organizations, agencies media outlets, local businesses and charitable trusts to raise community awareness about chronic kidney disease, with the secondary goal of increasing support of and attendance at the DaVita Kidney Awareness Run|Walk event.GENERAL PURPOSE OF THE JOB: The purpose of the Community Outreach Coordinator position is to represent DaVita in forming partnerships in the community to raise awareness about kidney disease, as well as increase support of and attendance at DaVita Kidney Awareness Run|Walk event (Fall 10)This position will be responsible for developing and executing a plan to build partnerships between DaVita and the community, including but not limited to recommending potential partners, building relationships with those partners through meetings and presentations, coordinating DaVita presence at community events and fairs, and performing other duties as assigned.Success will be measured by, among other things, the number of community partnerships formed, supportive communications put out by community partners about kidney disease awareness, and Kidney Awareness Run/Walk participant turnout and local sponsorship.This is a part-time position as an Independent Contractor, averaging 10-15 hours per week for a period of six months, with higher time commitment closer to the event,ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIESThe following duties and responsibilities generally reflect the expectations of this position but are not intended to be all-inclusive.Research local leaders, events and organizations; create a detailed outreach strategy and plan.Build relationships with community leaders and organizations; leverage those relationships to create widespread community awareness about chronic kidney disease and the Run/Walk event via information from trusted community leaders.Develop and maintain a detailed list of contacts attempted and made, and partnerships formedSchedule and deliver presentations, provide educational materials, at local events and meetings.Deliver regular reports of activity to team and management
