A New Haven-based non-profit housing agency is looking to fill a permanent, full-time Housing Coordinator position. A Bachelor's degree in Human Services, Psychology or Social Work required; 6 years' hands-on housing experience may be substituted. Experience working with a very diverse population, e.g., disabled, elderly, mentally ill, those at or below poverty level, as well as a working knowledge of various housing subsidy programs is required. Must be experienced in identifying and locating safe, affordable housing for participants of the program and have some knowledge of the Greater New Haven-Waterbury-Danbury aras. Travel in these areas is required so the daily use of a reliable, properly insured and registered vehicle is mandatory. Experience with identifying and locating safe, affordable housing and working with various housing people, e.g., realtors, property managers, landlords, is critical. A working knowledge of Fair Housing laws, especially those surrounding accessibility, will be extremely helpful. Comfortable with various computer software, e.g., WORD, Outlook, internet. The Family Support Center is a family oriented center that operates on a strengths-based model to create a safe and supportive environment for the families seeking services.  The goal of the Center is to build a healthy relationship with each family by treating every family member with respect in order to assess and identify areas of need to make appropriate referrals to community providers.      Qualified bi-lingual (Spanish/English) candidates are especially encouraged to apply.   Responsibilities: Responsible for all aspects of case coordination including:  intake, assessments, and development of Family Success Plan, referrals and discharges. Assists, as needed, with screenings and ensures process is completed in a timely manner in accordance with mandates of contract provisions; Conducts assessments, oversees and assists service delivery team in making appropriate, timely referrals for services resulting from the assessment process, directly linked to the identified needs while embracing the importance of client treatment matching; Coordinates, schedules and facilitates direct therapeutic interventions for individuals, families and/or groups when necessary; offers and conducts therapeutic sessions as needed; With the Program Manager, models and serves as a resource for the provision of clinical, therapeutic, educational and other required services to children, families, guardians and staff through demonstration of specific knowledge and demonstration of the required skill set of compassion, enthusiasm, and respect; Regularly assesses group curricula effectiveness; revises, develops, and enhances schedules and offerings dependent upon the population being served; Participates in individual and family mediation sessions; Completes reports and provides program specific data as required; Collaborates with Program Manager to provide interactions and representation at meetings; Assumes responsibility for the Center in the absence of the Program Manager; Models and ensures the maintenance of tenets and philosophy associated with a strengths based, gender responsive, trauma informed program; Participates in the Quality Improvement Activities of the Agency; Provide on-call coverage as necessary to the program;   Salary Commensurate with experience - only qualified resumes and applicants will be considered.  Include salary requirements with cover letter.
