Job Title: Social Work Supervisor (LCSW) - Part Time (21 hrs/wk) Company: Legal Aid Bureau, Inc. Location: Baltimore, MD Description: Legal Aid's Baltimore City office serves close to 20,000 low-income clients each year. The majority are adults with legal issues involving employment, housing, income maintenance, health, consumer, education and family matters. Clients come to Legal Aid with a myriad of concerns - both legal and non-legal. The Social Work Supervisor and students work with Legal Aid's legal staff to help clients in a holistic manner to address these concerns and navigate the various organizations and agencies in the community that focus on these issues. Legal Aid and the Field Education Program of the University of Maryland School of Social Work began this field placement project in September 2009. The Social Work Supervisor supervises up to four clinical social work students who assist clients with various issues, including, but not limited to, crisis and case management and referral, coordination of benefits (including health care), and homelessness. In addition, students may provide expert testimony as part of the litigation process and social work assessments for purposes of trial. The program will be funded during times when the University of Maryland is not is session. During those times, the supervisor will have sole responsibility for pending cases handled by the unit. Qualifications: Master's degree in Social Work (Licensure at least LCSW). Experience providing clinical case management as well as mental health services helpful. Supervision and leadership experience preferred. Good interpersonal and writing skills required.
