Job Description: The HPRP Case Manager is accountable directly to the HPRP Program Manager. This position is responsible for providing housing search and placement, housing stability, and income- focused case management services to the families assigned to his/ her case load. Specific responsibilities include but are not limited to the following: helping families move into stable housing, providing 3-18 months of case management services to ensure that families are receiving necessary support services to help stabilize, helping connect families with resources to increase income, meeting weekly and as needed with families on case load to develop case plans, review progress, and to do follow up on tasks and services, collaborating with Housing Specialist and families on housing searches and placement processes, completing assessments, coordinating with community resources for housing, employment, substance abuse treatment, mental health services, and maintaining files and data for families on case load. AGENCY: House of Ruth helps women, children and families in greatest need and with very limited resources to build safe, stable lives and achieve their highest potential. We serve women, children and families who are striving to overcome domestic violence, homelessness, mental health disorders and substance abuse. Underlying their problems are the women?s experiences of neglect and abuse. Not every little girl who is abused grows up to be homeless and a victim of domestic violence, with mental health and/or addiction problems. However, the reverse is true. At House of Ruth, nearly all of the women we serve are survivors of abuse and neglect in childhood, followed by a lack of positive, supportive relationships in adulthood, as well as a high incidence of domestic violence. At our 13 locations in Washington, DC, House of Ruth is working with more than 600 women and children at any given time. Six of our 11 service-enriched locations house 76 families comprising 76 mothers and their children. Five of our locations for women house 110 women. Seventy-six children are provided developmental day care while their families are provided case management assistance at Kidspace, a child and family development center.
