SPECIFIC DUTIES/TASKS. *LCSW or LMFT will provide thorough psychosocial assessment, counseling and consultation services regarding behavioral and emotional problems and family advocacy concerns of eligible service members, retirees and their families. *Interviews individuals and relevant collateral contacts to identify factors influencing psychosocial development and environmental structures in relation to presenting symptomatic behavior patterns and complicated interpersonal problems. *Consults and coordinates with facility, installation, and community resources, as necessary, in formulation and development of specific treatment plans/programs (e.g. individual counseling, group or family counseling, referral for medical or medication evaluation, referral for inpatient treatment, etc). *Provides direct treatment using a wide variety of social casework and counseling techniques to assist clients in understanding and resolving identified problems. *Provides technical consultation to Chief, Social Work Services, MTF, installation, and community resources, as needed, and in coordination with installation Family Advocacy Program Manager, on issues relating to clinical program management of The Army Family Advocacy Program. *LCSW or LMFT may be assigned responsibility for psychosocial evaluation and treatment for child and/or spouse abuse cases as referred by the Family Advocacy Case Review Committee/Social Work Services. *LCSW or LMFT will perform various administrative duties and participate in scheduled staff training/coordination activities in support of services provided (attend clinic/departmental meetings, participate in treatment team reviews and in-service training, assist with Performance Improvement Program). *Assess and resolve complex social, economic and psychosocial problems that may impact on service members’ and their families’ medical treatment by providing direct casework services, to include assessment, referral, consultation and education. *Conduct psychosocial evaluations and provide therapeutic interventions including crisis counseling to individuals, groups and families as needed to facilitate case management and optimize care. *Advocate for clients as needed, and assist with negotiating systems to acquire resources and services, including assisting with paperwork completion, while consistently demonstrating a caring attitude that exceeds the client’s expectations for services and a professional relationship with staff members and TRICARE providers and staff. *Educate clients, their families, commanders and health care staff on community resources including information and referral for financial, housing, educational, employment and childcare resources as required by client’s needs assessment. *Attend and participate in patient care reports, patient care conferences, team conferences, professional staff conferences and any other appropriate professional activities only to the extent that such attendance and participation is relative to assigned cases and/or performance of contract services as determined by the MTF Commander, Chief, Social Work Services, Clinic OIC or other supervisors. *Present client cases in regularly scheduled case conferences under the direction of the Chief, Department of Behavioral Health, Clinic OIC, and/or program directors. Requirements PROFESSIONAL QUALIFICATIONS. Contract employee shall have the following qualifications/documentation: *Masters or Doctorate Degree from a Council on Social Work Education (CSWE) Accredited School. *Clinical Social Work license from a U.S. jurisdiction that allows for the independent practice of clinical services. This license must be current (not revoked, suspended, or lapsed in registration), valid (the issuing authority accepts and considers QA information (i.e. practitioner professional performance and conduct in determining continued licenses)), and unrestricted (not subject to restriction pertaining to the scope, location, or type of practice ordinarily granted other applicants for similar licenses in granting jurisdiction). The license must be examination-based and one that is granted by the recognized licensing agency of a state in the United States of America, the District of Columbia, the Commonwealth of Puerto Rico, Guam or the Virgin Islands. *A minimum of two years post-masters social work experience (within the last 3 years), preferably delivering clinical mental health and family advocacy services. *Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification from the American Heart Association. Advanced Cardiac Life Support or other advanced certification does not supersede BLS certification. *Certificates/licenses shall be maintained in a current status at all times while performing services under this contract. If at any time during the contract, a contract provider does not renew any of the required certifications/licenses prior to the expiration date, he/she will not be allowed to work at IACH. This expense shall be borne by the contractor. *Working knowledge of the military mental health care system.
