In the course of individual/family counseling, the Therapists shall discuss behavioral responsibility, motivation and attitudes in achieving redirected behavior. The therapist(s) shall, as appropriate, counsel with Soldiers, families and others to obtain social and personal information pertinent to the patient injury and development of the adjustment difficulty and ascertain the problem impact on the individual/family/unit/community. Therapists(s) shall provide crisis intervention and therapy to referred clients, maintain a therapeutic relationship with the patient/family during treatment and rehabilitation, and collaborate with civilian agencies in case follow-up and closure. Experience/Qualifications Needed: The LCSW shall possess professional knowledge of social work services, counseling services, psychosocial principles and theories, and group dynamics of family and individual systems. The LCSW shall possess a Master of Social Work degree from a University Accredited by the Counsel on Social Work Education (CSWE) and an Independent Clinical Social Work license from a recognized state with regulatory authority. The LCSW shall maintain a professional license, certification or registration as required by the profession and appropriate regulatory bodies. This license will be current (not revoked, suspended, or lapsed in registration), valid (the issuing authority accepts and considers QA information practitioner professional performance and conduct in determining continued licenses), and unrestricted (not subject to restriction pertaining to the scope, location, or type of practice ordinarily granted to other applicants for similar licenses in granting jurisdiction). The Resource Family Social Worker has the primary responsibility for assessing and supporting the Resource Family. Through the provision of excellent customer service to SRS for the referrals they make regarding Interstate Compact Placement for children who are in the care a, custody and control of another state agency. Resource Family Social Workers are prepared to assist with crisis situations preserving the placement when possible and emergency placements always ensuring the safety of the children served, including ensuring that all necessary documentation is completed, coordinate home studies and MAPP attendance, and are available to answer questions or provide resource information. SUPPORT TO RESOURCE FAMILIES 25%
Facilitate a personalized orientation to potential Resource Families, discussing the need for quality Resource Families, the difficulties and the triumphs engaging them into the Leagues’ culture
Assist potential resource families to gather required information, register and participate in MAPP, complete home studies, and complete licensing requirements. Maintain resource family files.
In collaboration with the MAPP process complete an honest thorough assessment regarding the Resource Families ability to foster children.
Provide excellent customer service to Resource Families through regular visits as established in agency policy and be available to give prompt response to phone calls.
Complete at least monthly visits with the family, based on their needs and the needs the child placed.
FAMILY ASSESSMENT 50%
Family assessments must be completed in a timely manner, no longer than 30 days from start date, keeping the family engaged in the process.
