Job Title: Family Advocate Company: Location: Austin, TX Description: Cen-Tex Family Services, Inc is accepting applications for positions in the Early Head Start & Head Start programs in Bastrop, Elgin & Giddings. Only nurturing, responsible persons with an interest in providing quality early care & education services to children 0 -5 yrs of age and their families should apply. The Family Advocate will provide comprehensive case management services that will support EHS families in fostering their child?s development and assist them in attaining their personal goals with Early Head Start Standards, TDFPS Minimum Standards, CACFP and Cen-Tex Family Services, Inc. policies and procedures. Must have the ability to plan, organize and implement child & family development programs; knowledge of community resources w/in service area; & principles of case management. A degree in human services field preferred. Experience working w/families to foster child development required. Employment begins in May and this is a full-year positions. 40 hrs/wk . Three positions will be filled. Position requires experience working with infants, toddlers and families & knowledge of child growth and development. Must be able to work effectively with individuals of diverse educational, socio-economic, and cultural backgrounds, and those with disabilities and special needs. Position requires the ability to: speak and read English; lift up to 45 lbs; and squat, kneel & bend throughout the day. Must be able to pass physical examination, criminal history check, and fingerprinting screen. Valid Tx drivers license and personal vehicle with state required liability insurance. Bilingual Spanish/English preferred. Agency application and proof of education, including college transcripts required.
