Job Title: Patient Advocate Company: Children's Hospital of the King's Daught Location: Norfolk, VA Description: Patient Advocate Department: Patient Relations Schedule: PRN Shift: Days/Eves/ Nights Rotating/Weekends Hours: 9a-5p, 4p-12m, 5p-1a Job Details:  Reports to department manager/director. Serves as a liaison representative between patients and families and develops reports documenting resolutions for submission to appropriate agencies. Assists patients in interpreting hospital policies, procedures, and services. Identifies possible risk management issues and communicates information to the appropriate department. Also helps patients with obtaining solutions to problems and concerns. Assists staff in gaining awareness of patients perceptions of the hospital experience. Experience, Education and Training Minimum:Bachelors degree in Human Services or closely related discipline preferred; Prior experience in counseling, customer service or service recovery preferred; Knowledge of medical terminology is helpful; Must have experience using Microsoft Office Suite; Must have organizational skills to be able to prioritize complete multiple and competing tasks.
