The Crisis Service Counselor is a professional who provides crisis management; intervention; an emergent clinical evaluation; information; follow-up referrals; and discharge planning to patients and families who present in the Emergency Center with a wide variety of psychiatric, chemical addiction, and psych-social problems. We're seeking an individual who performs all duties in a manner that promotes teamwork and reflects the Mission and Philosophy of our founders, the Sisters of Providence. Position Specifics This position is located at Providence St. Peter Hospital in Olympia, Washington. This position is on call, variable shifts. REQUIREMENTS Education: Master of Social Work, Master of Arts / Science in a Human Services or Psychosocial / Mental Health field. A Registered Counselor with the Washington State Department of Health. Qualifies as a Mental Health Professional. Licenses / Certifications: Preferred: Professional License. Knowledge, Skill, Ability: An ability to work independently; a proficiency in speaking, reading and writing in English; the ability to coordinate, plan and lead; and the ability to relate well to clients and their families as well as peers, supervisors, medical staff and other professional service providers.
