Description: Eckerd Youth Alternatives, a leader for over 40 years in therapeutic programs for at-risk youth is seeking a MST Therapist in Tallahassee, FL. This position will provide direct clinical treatment using methods compatible with MST principles and practices; Conduct MST assessment; identify and engage key participants; develop an analysis of the fit of problem behaviors within the ecological context; Implement a problem conceptualization, treatment planning, intervention implementation, outcome review and strategy revision procedure using the MST Analytic Process; and maintain clear and concise documentation of treatment efforts that promote peer and supervisory review and feedback, and that demonstrate compliance with the 9 MST Principles and the MST Analytic Process.
Duties
* Conduct MST assessment including review of referral information, identifying and engaging key participants, identifying systemic strengths and weaknesses, and developing an analysis of the fit of problem behaviors within the ecological context.
* Engage primary caregiver and other key participants in active change-oriented treatment by identifying and overcoming barriers to engagement.
* Implement a problem conceptualization, treatment planning, intervention implementation, outcome review and strategy revision procedure using the MST Analytic Process.
* Maintain clear and concise documentation of treatment efforts that promote peer and supervisory review and feedback, and that demonstrate compliance with the 9 MST Principles and the MST Analytic Process.
* Collaborate with all relevant systems and key participants within each system to ensure their buy-in and cooperation throughout MST treatment.
* Assure availability to families 24 hours / day, 7 days / week.
* Provide direct clinical treatment using methods compatible with MST principles and practices.
* Participate in all MST training, supervision and consultation activities.
* Participate in required training.
* Ensure adherence to EYA's Policy and Procedure Manual. Reports any acts, incidents, or conditions that reflect the possibility of inappropriate staff-to-youth / family relationships.
* Perform other related duties as required.
Position Requirements
Masters degree in Psychology, Social Work, Counseling or a related subject area. Or Bachelor's degree and 2 -3 clinical experience in treating serious antisocial behavior in youth may also qualify at EYA's discretion. 2 - 3 years applicable full-time work, volunteer or intern experiences, preferably with delinquency population, including individual, group or family counseling. At least two (2) years of in-home service with implementation of interventions within or between systems in client's natural, direct use of pragmatic family therapies, individual therapy using cognitive behavioral techniques, and / or marital therapy.
